Ok, It’s been a little quiet around here lately. For those those who don’t know, I relocated from Tallahassee to Panama City Beach about a year ago now. Tallahassee’s just a two hour drive away so my family and I have been making the trip a couple times a month, primarily for church but also to catch some photo shoots. It’s been challenging for me to be away from my home of almost 12 years. My photography life started in Tallahassee and I worked hard to establish myself as a wedding and portrait photographer. Now I’m a wedding photographer at one of the world’s most beautiful beaches and I don’t have a single beach wedding in my portfolio. It’s like starting all over again. So hence, the quite time. Honestly though, I have no excuses. At the very least, I have a lovely wife, three beautiful children, a pretty handsome dog, all often unwilling participants to my photographic experimentation. Looking forward, I will definitely have to make it a point to keep things fresh around here, even if it means setting up the gear in the living room every once in a while.
What brought me to this point is something that I haven’t spoken much about. On one of my recent trips back from a Tallahassee weekend, my family and I were in a pretty bad car accident. It’s kind of a long story but suffice it to say that we were very blessed throughout the entire situation. There were so many things that could have been worse and we are so grateful that God spared us the way that He did. Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved and everyone had really minor injuries with the exception of my 3 year old son. For the last few weeks, we’ve been going back in forth to Pensacola for doctor appointments and even did some fun surgery last week. You wouldn’t know it to look at him. It’s absolutely amazing how God created children. To have a kid who had a fractured hip running around the soccer field barely two weeks after the accident is just remarkable.
I’ve taken so long to mention anything about the ordeal because I didn’t want to exploit my family’s situation for web traffic but I figured that it was time to fill you guys in on what’s going on with things here. Check back in a few days though for some real work that I’ve been getting ready these last few weeks.
